eko definition

Los Robles Master Chorale's chamber choir, formerly Consort Singers, has re-launched with a new name and a new CD. êkō takes its name from the Sanskrit, eka, meaning "one" or "united" and features thirty-two singers drawn from the full membership of the chorale.

The group's first CD is now available and features performances of pieces by Nils Lindberg, Bob Chilcott, Lauren McLaren, Philip Wilby, Lesley Leighton, Brent Michael Davids, Leroy W, Southers, Jr., Moses Hogan, and Christina Whitten Thomas.

êkō performed the world premiere of Yamabiko by Thomas A.O. Goedecke, a winner of LRMC's annual Young Artist Choral Composers Competition, at the chorale's March 11 concert, Zimbe!, in Thousand Oaks.
