Letter from the President of the Board
For Los Robles Master Chorale, the 2008-2009 season marked the start of an exciting period of transition, and the excitement continues with its 32nd season in 2009-2010. As it transforms itself - under the guidance of Artistic Director Lesley Leighton - from a solid community arts organization into one of the preeminent performing arts groups in the region, LRMC has both new ambitions and a renewed commitment to remaining true to its core purpose: providing quality performances of choral music for the entertainment and enlightenment of its members and its audiences.
Like every worthwhile journey, this one has met with unexpected bumps in the road, and like every arts organization in these times of economic uncertainty, LRMC faces challenges. And yet, despite these challenges, we continue to grow, attracting more singers and larger audiences. Maestra Leighton has some marvelous musical programs planned for the coming season, as well as some exciting new projects that will extend the chorale's reach into the local community and beyond.
As the Board of Directors works to ensure LRMC's artistic and financial future, I invite you to join in the process in any way you can-as a contributor, as a volunteer and, of course, as a patron. Please take some time to explore our website to learn more about the group and the many ways in which you can become part of the journey.
