Singers and Broadway Lovers Are Invited to
A Summer Scratch Choir

Once again, Los Robles Master Chorale invites members of the community who love to sing to take part in a summer "scratch" choir. The day-long event, led by the chorale's artistic director, Lesley Leighton, takes place June 23 in Oak Park.
"A scratch choir is a non-auditioned, pick-up chorus that provides an opportunity for singers of all types to come together and make music," explains Leighton. "The show will celebrate the Broadway musical - perfect music for this time of year. In fact, the day may feel a bit like Summer Stock - rehearse that day and perform that night!"
This year's show, Whistle a Happy Tune, will feature choral selections from Chicago, Rent, West Side Story, and My Fair Lady. Singers will rehearse from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm and then perform at 7:30 pm. The performance will also feature guest soloists.
The singer* participation fee is $25 for adults and $15 for students (must be 16 years or older). Music will be provided. Audience tickets for the evening performance are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors or students. The event will be held at The Church of the Epiphany, 5450 Churchwood Drive, Oak Park.

All proceeds from Whistle a Happy Tune will support Los Robles Master Chorale's efforts to serve Ventura and western Los Angeles counties with quality performances of choral music, and will help fund the chorale's community and educational outreach programs, including its annual High School Choral Festival and Choral Leadership Workshop.
