High School Choral Leadership Workshop
Fall 2013
At its Choral Leadership Workshop, Los Robles Master Chorale will offer an opportunity for serious high school choral singers to work in an intimate setting on improving their individual singing and ensemble leadership skills. In this all-day workshop, led by Los Robles Master Chorale Artistic Director and Los Angeles Master Chorale Associate Conductor Lesley Leighton, mixed quartets or octets of high school choral singers will focus on healthy choral tone, proper vowel production, blending voices, and artistic musical interpretation. A special session on vocal technique will also be given.
The quartets or octets will be selected by their own choir directors, with an eye toward those advanced singers sharing their improved knowledge and skills with their home choruses. Following the morning workshops , all singers will attend sectionals and full rehearsals, then join together for an afternoon performance free to the public. Choir directors are invited to attend the workshop sessions with their students.
If you are a choir director with a high school age choir, and are interested in participating in the LRMC High School Choral Leadership Workshop, please contact Lynn Youngren (805 990-3006) for information on how to apply.
Don’t miss this special opportunity for professional-level musical training.
